Sheet Metal Processing – Roll Leveling Machines Replace Traditional Leveling Methods

  • JIUZH

In sheet metal processing companies, conventional leveling methods are often no longer a cost-effective process. Neither hammers and flames, nor coilers nor leveling presses can reduce residual stresses in the material. However, for the subsequent processing of sheet metal parts, these residual stresses in the material can have serious adverse effects. They can be released by press cutting or laser cutting, causing bending and deformation of the sheet metal part and thus jeopardizing the entire subsequent process chain. When dimensional inaccuracies or angular errors render the part unusable, this leads to time-consuming rework, slows down the process and increases production costs.

A high degree of automation in sheet metal part processing is indispensable for a precise leveling process. Nowadays, there are hardly any sheet metal processing companies that can guarantee the precision and efficiency of the process without the use of roll leveling machines.
